Why Anyone needs to study Engineering Today?

Dear Aspiring Parents of Engineers !
Today +2 results of Tamilnadu state board syllabus has come.CBSE & other syllabus results for higher secondary will be out soon.

Tamilnadu already has innumerable Engineering colleges in all possible alphabetical combinations. Every Politician of this state & neighbouring states are behind most of the Engg. colleges. When any politician of this great country is showing interest in any subject it means it is a easy money flowing activity. Be it IPL, a stamp paper scam or the Engineering college it meant for minting money. Many states in India wants to emulate Tamilnadu beacuse of the impressive scores of money.

In simple words - ENGINEERING COLLEGES are MONEY MINES.

As per the statisitcs given by Anna University this year whole of TN is offering 1,15,000 Engineering seats. Many self financing colleges cannot fill up their seats fully. Even considering these if we take overall 70% seats likely to be filled up - i.e. about 80,500 new candidates are going to join. On an average a student is spending close to Rs.5 Lakhs ( This is miniscule considering the capitation fees)- even this conservative estimate makes this Money Mine a Industry of Rs.4025 Crores worth.

Please note that nearly 80% of the Self Financing Engineering colleges lack basic infrastructure facilties. Name sake few poorly constructed buildings in a remote village & few old city buses are more than sufficient. Most of the faculties of the most of the engineering colleges are the ex-students, who are non saleable commodity in the Money market becomes a lecturer in any Pvt. Engineering college, who will sign voucher for UGC pay scale but carry home only 1/10th of it.

AICTE is planning to give clearance for 100 more Engg. colleges in this year. Dont question How these colleges are getting clearance for running the colleges. When you have decided to get your ward a Engineering Degree - Please learn to walk blind folded to any Bank & get the loan for the Engineering Degree & become a lifetime Loaner.

Out of 80,000 odd who have to come out with Engineering Degrees nearly 50% has arrears atleast in one subject. About 20 to 30,000 may get a job for which he/ she has studied for, balance on their Luck, time will get some Job which doesnot require an Engineer to do. Many cos. whichever advertises in any medium looking for Candidates for filling any post- is getting applications from a Engineer studied in a Self Financing College. Even for the post of Typist or Computer operator or Call centre clerk - an Engineer is applying. Why ? Parents have taken Loan with a dream of their son / daughter getting hefty pay cheque from day one, is penalised by banks for non-payment of loans, so asking ( decent word for scolding) their ward to look for any job to atleast repay some amount.

Quality of Education & quality of Engineer is absymally of low standard. Many a times a Engineer does not even know the relationship between milllimetre & centimetre or between a byte &Kilobyte or mixing ratio of Sand & cement. What for this education? which does not give any values or knowledge?

Dear parents ! if your aim is making good money after getting degree - does he needs Engineering by spending Rs.5 lakhs of your hard earned Money? Why not make him a businessman, start a small business, he can even start a tuition center, or a kinder garden school to make much more. Or even simpler make them join politics-in any kazhagams of TN will offer umpteen lucarative businesses. please understand making your child Joining an Self financing Enginnering college is equivalent to Gambling on your's & your child's future. Please don't get trapped in these MONEY MINES. Many of the Youngsters from our neighbouring state AP are coming here for the name sake degree for the saleability in the Marriage market.

Microsofts', Googles' are recruiting even non engineers. Salaried job are not the only option. Invest for knowledge not for money in the form of a Gamble. Most of the youngsters of today are studying engineering out of parental & peer pressures & are losing their identities in four years.

Please Ponder this question - Why Engineering?
This is applicable to medical- esp. dental colleges - Every locality has more no. of dentist than any other specialist. IT companies have increased so do medical shops, hospitals & medical practitioners - this is directly proportional theory which life engineering is teaching us.
